Game Designer (f/m/d)

Thoughtfish develops games and gamified apps for mobile devices, VR/XR, PC, and consoles. We strive to create innovative products and technologies with areas of applicability beyond the scope of gaming. We are looking for professionals to strengthen our friendly, highly-motivated team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design features and systems that fulfill the PC games’ ambitious visions

  • Help refine the vision as a key stakeholder together with the vision-holder

  • Create and maintain internal design documents

  • Pitch features internally and drive them to completion together with the team of developers and artists

  • Iterate, balance, and tune gameplay features based on KPIs and feedback

  • Be the advocate of the player and design the experience, not just systems

  • Proactively seek out gameplay problems and come up with solutions

  • Maintain industry best practices in the team working environment

  • UI/UX support

  • Own the FUN

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Game Designer

  • You have worked on at least one PC or VR/MR production from beginning to release

  • You have worked on at least one Live product with an active community + high DAU + Data

  • Experience in balancing complex gameplay systems

  • Comfortable working in “new genres”, exploring uncharted space

  • Systems/Mechanics Designer

  • Avid gamer with knowledge and understanding of various games and game types

  • Passion for Simulation and Sandbox Games

Your Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills, particularly in design documentation
  • Strong algorithmic and analytic skills
  • Good communication skills; ample teamwork experience
  • Previous experience with major game engines, preferably Unity

  • Excel/Google Sheets

Bonus Points for Experience with:

  • Strategy games
  • Role playing games
  • Free to play games

  • Any form of programming

  • User research and playtesting experience
